Memorable Moments of Accomplishments

1993 Silver Award=I achieved this award by completing all badges & pins outlined in the cadette/senior handbook. My final project revolving around battered woman & children, & earthquake victims of the Northridge quake . I organized collections of clothing, living essentials, and non-parishable food for the local woman & children shelter's, & quake victims.

1996 Edith Macy Pin=Recieved while attending Conflict Resolution & Violence International Leadership Institute in New York. This institute was open to 12 U.S. Girl Scouts, & only 12 international Girl Guides. I was proud to be chosen to attend. I also toured the G.S.U.S.A. headquarters, and the Empire State building with my host Myra Burris. Myra had recently moved to NY to work at G.S.U.S.A. Prior to working in NY she was the president of my local Girl Scout council in Modesto, Ca.

1998 Celebrating10 yrs. in Scouting. Recieved my 10 yr. Membership Pin. This milestone reminded me of all the wonderful times in scouting.

I started back in 1988 as a Junior Girl Scout in the 4th grade. The reason why I'm doing this page is because Scouting is near and dear to my heart. My goal as I bridged to adult scout was to give back to the girl's what was given to me. Scouting made me the person I'm today. The skills I learned I use on a daily basis, it's not all about selling cookies, or cooking and sewing. I learned leadership skills, outdoor survival skills, communication skills, and much more. It's a sisterhood, and we take care of one another. There are so many woman, and sister scouts, that will never know how much they meant to me. I miss being the Girl Scout, I have had a lot of good times. Now it's time to give back to the girl's of today, and show them that Scouting has so much to offer, if there willing to accept that dreams can become reality in Scouting.
